Can my child drink tea?

Mon enfant peut-il boire du thé?
Are you wondering if your child is old enough to drink tea? What are the contraindications or, conversely, the benefits? Discover in this article which plants to favor and which to avoid for your children.

Tea (containing theine) should be avoided

As a general rule, it is not recommended to give tea containing theine/caffeine to your children. Theine, like caffeine, is a powerful stimulant that can have a negative effect on children, causing overexcitement and sleep disturbances.

Go ahead and have some herbal tea!

Unlike tea, herbal tea does not contain caffeine, so it is safe to give it to children. In fact, it is not uncommon to give it to toddlers (under 2 years old), for example, to relieve digestive or sleep problems; however, we always recommend consulting your pediatrician first.
We recommend choosing organic herbal teas for your children whenever possible. As for flavors, let them try different kinds; children often enjoy fruity, tangy, and sweet tastes!

Which herbal tea should I choose?

There are no specific herbal teas you should choose; you can ask your child which flavor they would like to try. If you'd like to find plants with health benefits that could help your child, here's a short guide:
