Discover a new decadent hot drink recipe perfect for the cold season: the Hojicha tea latte. But first, do you know what Hojicha tea is? Let's introduce you!
What is Hojicha tea?
Hojicha is a roasted Japanese green tea. It obtains its reddish-brown color through the roasting process and is composed of tea twigs and leaves.
Hojicha has a subtle flavor of roasted hazelnuts and caramel. Due to the roasting process, hojicha contains caffeine, but less than regular green tea.
It is preferable to consume Hojicha tea loose rather than in bags for better quality.
How to prepare Hojicha tea?
This tea is easy to prepare. The water should be boiling and the steeping time is quick, between 1 and 2 minutes depending on your preference. Naturally, the longer the steeping time, the stronger the flavor will be.
For a cold infusion, simply leave it in a container of water in the fridge for a few hours or overnight.
