In summer, we love fresh, flavorful salads. Whether for lunch, dinner, or supper, salads are usually the star of our meals. To accompany them, we suggest a green tea-based vinaigrette recipe. You'll love it!
Green tea vinaigrette
Tea in a salad dressing, is that even possible? Yes, of course, and it's delicious too, so why not try it?
For this vinaigrette, green tea is a good choice; the leaves are rich in flavor and will give your dressing a unique aroma. Be careful with the steeping time, though; leaves steeped for too long can make your vinaigrette bitter and overpowering.
The ingredients
2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar
½ cup of olive oil
¼ cup of balsamic vinegar or red wine
½ tsp of honey or maple syrup
4 tablespoons of brewed green tea
1 tablespoon of finely chopped shallots
Salt and pepper
½ cup of olive oil
¼ cup of balsamic vinegar or red wine
½ tsp of honey or maple syrup
4 tablespoons of brewed green tea
1 tablespoon of finely chopped shallots
Salt and pepper
Preparation
Start by steeping the green tea in hot water for 5 minutes. Once the tea has steeped, discard the leaves. Let it cool to room temperature.
In a container, add the oil, vinegar, honey, shallots, and 4 tablespoons of brewed tea. Mix everything well, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
To be adapted to your liking
Feel free to adapt this recipe to your taste; for example, you could use lemon tea or berry tea for tangy vinaigrettes. The proportions remain the same.
