Rooibos originates from South Africa and has been consumed by indigenous people as an infusion for over 300 years. Harvesting takes place during the first three months of the year, during the summer season.
Preparing rooibos
Perhaps this will seem obvious to you, that there's no need to explain again how to prepare an infusion, and yet... Let's start from the beginning! Preparing a good tea or infusion is quite an art!
Let's start with the water; the water in your infusion or tea is very important. Tap water is generally the most commonly used, however, its taste can be too chlorinated, too salty… You might prefer mineral water which, once heated (not boiled!), will be perfect for your infusion.
Rooibos can also be Cold brewed , very practical in summer for enjoying as iced tea!
Next, regarding water temperature, we can't stress this enough: tea water should never be boiled, as this will burn the leaves and ruin the taste of your hot beverage. As for steeping time, Rooibos, being an infusion, can be steeped for 5 to 10 minutes. You can leave it for less time if you prefer a lighter brew.

Finally, the infuser is also important! Rooibos is particularly delicate, so if you use an unsuitable infuser, the leaves may disperse throughout your cup. We recommend using a metal infuser placed directly in the cup.

Rooibos can be enjoyed at any time of day! It's an infusion and therefore contains no caffeine! No risk of having trouble sleeping at night – quite the opposite! Whether it's in the morning, afternoon, or evening, feel free to enjoy a delicious cup of rooibos.
