A surprising marriage of the smoothness of rum, the intensity of matcha, the freshness of mint, and the acidity of lime. Perfect for a refined and refreshing summer aperitif.
Ingredients (for 2 people)

60 ml (2 oz) of rum

2 tsp matcha tea

A little water (to dilute the matcha)

200 ml of water or sparkling water

The juice of 2 limes

1 bunch of fresh mint

4 tablespoons of sugar

Ice
Preparation

Remove the mint leaves and place them in a bowl.

Add the lime juice and sugar, then gently crush with a pestle to release the mint aromas.

In a small bowl, dilute the matcha with a little water until you obtain a smooth and homogeneous texture.

Fill two glasses with ice cubes, then pour in the rum.

Add the matcha mixture.

Using a sieve, filter the lemon-mint juice, pressing the leaves well to extract all the flavors.

Top up with water or sparkling water according to your preference.

Garnish with a few sprigs of fresh mint… and enjoy!
Tip: For an even more festive version, replace the water with very cold sparkling water.
