History of smoked tea

Smoked tea is actually black tea that was the result of an "accident"! The history of smoked tea dates back to the 1820s. The Chinese army was passing through the Fujian region and looking for a place to rest.

The army then passed close to a black tea plantation and decided to settle there. The tea leaves were stored in the drying room, but were not dry. The tea farmer, to save his plantation, then decided to set the roots on fire and put the leaves on top to dry.

So the black tea ended up drying out faster, but also permeated the smell of the smoke, creating the smoky tea we know today.
It was in Europe that smoked tea first had the greatest success before gaining worldwide recognition.

The smoked tea has a very pronounced and inimitable taste, we find in particular flavors of wood, smoke, bacon, but also of pine or even notes of tobacco.

How to prepare it?

For the preparation of smoked tea, you will need 30 cl of water heated between 95 and 100 degrees (Celsius) for approximately 30 g of grams of smoked tea

The infusion time varies between 3 and 5 minutes depending on your preferences. The longer the brewing time, the stronger the taste.

How to taste it?

This tea goes very well with salty foods, it is delicious during a brunch for example. It goes perfectly well with salmon, eggs, bacon. You can also use it for your cooking water, to give a little smoky taste to rice, Chinese noodles ...

Finally, you can definitely consume it during the day, accompanied by a square of milk chocolate to sweeten its flavor!
